Solution for safe archiving
Correspondingly the State Register Service of Real Estate of Azerbaijan has asked for support to establish a solution for safe archiving of the very large number of title documents in paper format used for the first privatization of land.
With funding from the Ministry of Foreign Affaires the Centre will as a first step conduct a fact finding mission. It is also planned a study visit of experts from Azerbaijan to Norway during the first half of 2009.

Statens kartverk was approached by the State Register Service of Real Estate of the Republic of Azerbaijan with inquiry to discuss potential cooperation and knowledge transfer in the field of Cadastre and Land Registry.

The main responsibility of the State Register Service of Real Estate of the Republic of Azerbaijan is the title registration of real properties, as well as the development and implementation of the unified cadastre system. Currently, in Azerbaijan there is on-going inception stage of the Property Registration Project funded by the World Bank.

Therefore Mr. Arif Garashov, Head of Land Registry and his two colleagues will visit our office in Oslo and headquarters in Hønefoss, on 25-28 February, as well as to discuss potential project proposals for Norwegian funding.
