Improving real estate information system
The State Committee of the Real Property Cadastre of Armenia has asked for support to improve their real estate information
system. The Ministry of Foreign Affaires has agreed to fund a fact finding mission, which will be made during January. Based
on the outcome of the mission, an application for a larger Norwegian funded project could be prepared.
Potential Norwegian support to land sector in Armenia
Statens kartverk has been approached by its sister organisation in Armenia with a request for assistance in applying for financial
support from the Norwegian Government, as well as for collaboration in the execution of a subsequent project.
Armenia has established basic services reflecting the transition to private ownership in land and property, and has benefited
from several foreign funded projects since its independence from the Soviet Union.
However, it still remains a big demand for improvements to registers, maps and adjacent services to the land sector.
In considering Norwegian support to this sector in Armenia, it seems as a first step most sensible to undertake a feasibility study. The study should clarify in detail the needs for and the content of a potential main project.
Therefore recently the Centre has submitted an application for funding a feasibility study aiming
- to assess the need for foreign assistance to the land sector in Armenia and the relevance of Norwegian funded support
- to determine the content, time schedule and budget for a main project that (potentially) could qualify for Norwegian grant funding.
