The Coastal Chart Series covers the Norwegian coast from the border
with Sweden to Grense-Jakobselv (the border with Russia), the west
coast of Svalbard and the waters around Bjørnøya.
The scale on the Norwegian coast varies from 1 : 100,000 to 1
: 350,000, in the Arctic from 1 : 200,000 to 1 : 350,000.
Charts in this series covering the Norweian coast in scales larger
than 1 : 200,000 are shown in green.
Coastal charts are primarily used for navigation in coastal areas
not adequately covered by the Main Chart Series, in offshore navigation
as well as on the fishing banks.
The Coastal Chart Series is on the Mercator projection.
