Study visit from Moldova – Quality Control of Orthophoto Production

The visit programme was carefully compiled to cover the most important and crucial issues of the quality control execution.
Moldavian delegation was represented by Valeriu Filenco, Technical Director, Svetlana Zaharchina, Head of Photogrammetry Department of the State Institute INGEOCAD, and Maria Ovdii, Head of Department of Geodesy and GIS of Moldavian Agency for Land Relation and Cadastre.
With their gratitude the visitors admitted that they have learnt a great deal from both Statens kartverk and a private company Blom Geomatics. Considering that INGEOCAD has got very little experience in working with orthophoto production based on aerial photography with digital camera, there were many questions asked. Norwegian engineers have shared their experience and tried to give as detailed answers as possible.
It has been agreed upon to select a pilot area (a town of Orhei, where the aerial photography is already completed) for trial quality control execution at INGEOCAD under supervision of two Norwegian specialists. Moreover, the contractor – BlomInfo, will arrange a 1- week workshop in Moldova to give a training course on working with orthophoto products and deliverables.
